you hadn't, you can undo it, even if you've done other things in the interim:

Open any folder and select Edit/Undo to reverse the most recent file action..

A Win9x utility that recovers files which are deleted on FAT12, 16 or FAT32 disks.
This shareware version is fully functional but it puts up a message after 30 days:
