O MNIE… / ABOUT ME…

Zenon Balcer, absolwent Wydziału Grafiki Akademii Sztuk Pięknych im. Jana Matejki w Krakowie, dyplom w Pracowni Rysunku Filmowego pod kierunkiem prof. Jerzego Kuci. Stopień doktora sztuki uzyskał na Wydziale Grafiki i Sztuki Mediów Akademii Sztuk Pięknych im. Eugeniusza Gepperta we Wrocławiu.

Działa w obszarze sztuki nowych mediów łącząc cyfrową fotografię i wideo z tradycyjnymi technikami graficznymi. Fascynuje się wpływem czasu na zmiany w wyglądzie i strukturze obiektów. Analizuje ich formę i przenosi uzyskane, dynamiczne informacje na nieruchomą płaszczyznę. Integrując naukę ze sztuką, zachęca do refleksji na temat percepcji, rzeczywistości i przemijania.

Zdobywca wielu nagród i wyróżnień artystycznych m.in. w „Ekologii w obiektywie”, „Europejskim Festiwalu Fabuły, Dokumentu i Reklamy Euroshorts”, „Foto-pein – Konkursie Fotografii Przemysłowej i Industrialnej”. Przez wiele lat tworzył dla TVP i TVN czołówki telewizyjne, studia wirtualne i oprawy graficzne do programów kulturalnych, sportowych i politycznych. Współpracował w zakresie zaawansowanych technik obróbki obrazu z Wojskową Akademią Techniczną, ITI Film Studio, Chimney Pot i Film Factory. Jego prace znajdują się w wielu kolekcjach na całym świecie, m.in. w Daugavpils Mark Rothko Art Centre. Należy do Związku Polskich Artystów Plastyków Okręgu Warszawskiego. Współzałożyciel Polsko – Norweskiej Platformy Fotograficznej Pixel. Wykładowca Akademii WIT w Warszawie, gdzie prowadzi Pracownię Animacji i Filmu Cyfrowego.

Inspiruje do podejmowania działań mających na celu ograniczenie nadmiernej konsumpcji. Promuje recykling i wegetarianizm jako sposoby na zmniejszenie negatywnego wpływu człowieka na środowisko naturalne.

Zenon Balcer, a graduate of the Department of Graphics at the Jan Matejko Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków, diploma in the Film Drawing Division of prof. Jerzy Kucia. He obtained a doctorate in arts at the Department of Graphics and Media Art of the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław.

He works in the field of new media art, combining digital photography and video with traditional graphic techniques. He is fascinated by the influence of time on changes in the appearance and structure of objects. He analyzes their form and transfers the dynamic information obtained to a stationary plane. By integrating science with art, he encourages reflection on perception, reality and passing.

Winner of many artistic awards and honours, incl. „Euroshorts European Film, Document and Advertising Festival”, „Ecology in the Lens”, „Foto – Pein Competition of Industrial Photography”. For many years, he created openings, virtual studios and graphics for cultural, sports and political programs for Polish nationwide TV stations. He collaborated in the field of advanced image processing techniques with the Military University of Technology, ITI Film Studio, Chimney Pot and Film Factory. His works are in many collections around the world, including at Daugavpils Mark Rothko Art Centre. He is a member of The Association of Polish Artist and Designers of the Warsaw District. Co-founder of the Polish-Norwegian Photographic Platform Pixel. Lecturer at the WIT University in Warsaw, where he runs the Animation and Digital Film Studio.

He inspires to take action to reduce excessive consumption. It promotes recycling and vegetarianism as ways to reduce the negative impact of humans on the natural environment.
