1.0 General Information

The GroupWise Archive Migration Utility for Lotus Notes

lets Lotus Notes users migrate their archive databases to

an archive in GroupWise.

For detailed information about the utility and on steps to

perform the migration, refer to the MIGRATE.PDF file

located in the installation directory.

2.0 Installation

The utility features an Installation Wizard. Use the

following steps to install the gateway:

1) Run the self-extracting executable SETUPLNAR.EXE.

2) Click Next.

3) Enter the directory where you want to install the

utility. By default, the utility will be installed in

c:\Lnarch.

4) Click Next.

5) Click Install. The utility files are now copied to the

destination directory.

NOTE: If the utility detects an older version of

COMCTL32.DLL, you will be prompted to update to a later

version. For more information, refer section on Updating

COMCTL32.DLL.

6) Check View Readme (recommended) > Check Launch Archive

Migration Utility. Click Finish.

3.0 Updating COMCTL32.DLL

The Migration Wizard may require an updated version of

COMCTL32.DLL to use certain controls. If the Install

program detects an older version of the DLL, you will be

prompted.

In rare cases, especially in double-byte environments,

this detection may fail. In such cases, you may find the

Migration Wizard failing to display some controls or

showing dialogs out of sequence. If this happens, you

will need to update the COMCTL32.DLL.

If you are going to run the utility in command line mode,

this updation is not required.

4.0 Migrating Lotus Notes Archives

You can migrate Lotus Notes archives to GroupWise using one

of the following methods:

1) Using the Migration Wizard

2) Using the Command Line

If you are using the Migration Wizard, click Start >

Programs > Lotus Notes Archive Migration > Migrate. For

more information about any dialog, click Help on the

dialog.

If you are using the command line, you can specify the

migration parameters in the configuration file NOTES.CFG

located in the installation directory. You can run the

utility in command line mode by specifying the cofiguration

file as a parameter.

For example, MIGRATE @NOTES.CFG.

The migrate utility will read input parameters from the

configuration file. For more information about startup

switches that can be specified, you can refer the

MIGRATE.PDF file located in the installation directory.

5.0 Known Problems

- Folder hierarchy is not preserved after migration. All

the messages will be migrated into Inbox and Sent

subfolders within the Cabinet folder in GroupWise.

- The migrated messages will be marked as opened in

GroupWise.

- If you are using the tool in non-US environments, the

machine's code page is used to determine the language

to be used during the conversion.

- The migrated messages will contain, user address (in

Domain.PO.UserID format)for GroupWise recipients, and

either display name or User ID for Lotus Notes

recipients. In order to reply, recipients must be

manually added from the GroupWise address book.
