1.0 General Information
The GroupWise Archive Migration Utility for Microsoft
Exchange lets Microsoft Exchange users convert their
archive files to GroupWise archives.
For information on steps to perform the migration, refer
the MIGRATE.PDF file located in the installation directory.
2.0 Installation
The gateway features an Installation Wizard. Use the
following steps to install the gateway:
1) Run the self-extracting executable SETUPEXAR.EXE.
2) Click Next.
3) Enter the directory where you want to install the
utility. By default, the utility will be installed in
c:\MigPST.
4) Click Next.
5) Click Install. The gateway files are now copied to the
destination directory.
NOTE: If the utility detects an older version of
COMCTL32.DLL, you will be prompted to update to a later
version. For more information, refer section on Updating
COMCTL32.DLL.
6) Check View Readme (recommended) > Check Launch Archive
Migration Utility. Click Finish.
3.0 Updating COMCTL32.DLL
The Migration Wizard may require an updated version of
COMCTL32.DLL to use certain controls. If the Install
program detects an older version of the DLL, you will be
prompted. The required version of the DLL can be downloaded
from the following location:

ASP
If you are going to run the utility in command line mode,
this updation is not required.
4.0 Migrating Microsoft Exchange Archives
You can migrate Microsoft Exchange archives to GroupWise
using one of the following methods:
1) Using the Migration Wizard
2) Using the command line
If you are using the Migration Wizard, click Start >
Programs > Microsoft Exchange Archive Migration > Migrate.
For more information about any dialog, click Help on the
dialog.
If you are using the command line, you can specify the
migration parameters in the configuration file EXCH.CFG
located in the installation directory. You can run the
utility in command line mode by specifying the cofiguration
file as a parameter.
For example, MIGRATE @EXCH.CFG. The migrate utility will
read input parameters from the configuration file. For more
information about startup switches that can be specified,
you can refer the EXCH.CFG file located in the installation
directory.
5.0 Known Problems
- While migrating a recurring Appointment/Task only the
first instance is migrated.
- The migrated message contains display names of the
recipients. In order to reply, recipients must be
manually added from the GroupWise address book.
