1.0 General Information
The GroupWise Archive Migration Utility for cc:Mail lets
cc:Mail users convert their archive files to archive
folders in GroupWise.
For detailed information, refer to MIGRATE.PDF file
located in the installation directory.
2.0 Installation
The utility features an Installation Wizard. Use the
following steps to install the utility:
1) Run the self-extracting executable SETUPCCAR.EXE.
2) Click Next.
3) Enter the directory where you want to install the
utility. By default, the utility will be installed in
C:\CCARCH.
4) Click Next.
5) Click Install. The files are now copied to the
destination directory.
NOTE: If the utility detects an older version of
COMCTL32.DLL, you may be prompted to update to a later
version. For more information, refer section 3.0 Updating
COMCTL32.DLL.
6) Check View Readme (recommended) > Check Launch Archive
Migration Utility.
7) Click Finish.
3.0 Updating COMCTL32.DLL
The Migration Wizard may require an updated version of
COMCTL32.DLL to use certain controls. If the Install
program detects an older version of the DLL, you will be
prompted.
In rare cases, especially in double-byte environments,
this detection may fail. In such cases, you may find the
Migration Wizard failing to display some controls or
showing dialogs out of sequence. If this happens, you
will need to update the COMCTL32.DLL.
The required version of the DLL can be downloaded from
the following location:
http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q186/1/7
6.ASP
If you use the utility in command line mode, this
updation is not required.
4.0 Migrating cc:Mail Archives
You can migrate cc:Mail archives to GroupWise using one
of the following methods:
1) Using the Migration Wizard
2) Using the command line
If you are using the Migration Wizard, click Start >
Programs > ccMail Archive Migration > Migrate. For more
information about any dialog, click Help.
If you are using the command line, you can specify the
migration parameters in the configuration file CCML.CFG
located in the installation directory. You can run the
utility in command line mode by specifying the
configuration file as a parameter.
For example, MIGRATE @CCML.CFG.
The migrate utility will read input parameters from the
configuration file. For more information about startup
switches that can be specified, refer the MIGRATE.PDF
file located in the installation directory.
5.0 Known Problems
- The utility will not migrate data present in the
address field data (Recipients' addresses) if it
exceeds 4KB. All the recipients will be ignored and
the message will be migrated as a "Posted message"
(personal item).
- Two cc:Mail archives with the same name will be
migrated to the same archive folder in GroupWise.
- Conversion of messages that use DOS code pages is
not supported.
- The migrated message contains display names of the
recipients. In order to reply, recipients must be
manually added from the GroupWise Address Book.
